Using this IDEAL 45-101 wire stripper is a breeze. First, decide if you're working with copper or aluminum wire, and whether it's solid or stranded. Adjust the rotating cam wheel to match the wire size between 10 - 24 AWG. Place the wire in the appropriate notch and use the tool to cut and strip the insulation. If you need to loop solid wires, use the looping holes. When you're done, you can use the locking hasp to keep the tool closed and safe. As for maintenance, keep the tool clean and dry. Avoid using it on wires that are much thicker than the specified range, as this can damage the tool. If you notice any dullness on the cutting edges, it might be time to replace the tool.
