Using your Makita XAG11Z grinder is easy. First, make sure you have a fully charged Makita 18V LXT® or Compact Lithium - Ion battery with the Star Symbol™. Insert the battery into the tool. When you're ready to start, hold the tool firmly with the rubberized soft grip. Press the paddle switch to start the grinder. The soft start feature will give you a smooth start. For grinding, cutting, or sanding, place the wheel on the material you want to work on and move the tool steadily. Remember, the electric brake will stop the wheel in 2 seconds or less when you release the switch. Here are some important notes. Don't use the tool if the wheel is damaged. Always wear safety gear like goggles and gloves. The Active Feedback - sensing Technology (AFT®) will turn off the motor if the wheel stops suddenly, but be careful not to force it. To keep your grinder in good shape, clean it regularly. Use a brush to remove dust from the wire mesh intake covers.
