The Makita XPH15ZB 18V LXT Sub-Compact Brushless Hammer Driver-Drill is an outstanding solution for drilling and driving. It's ultra-compact, significantly lighter, and offers the performance and power of an 18-Volt tool with the size and weight similar to lower voltage ones. For drilling in concrete or masonry, switch to hammer mode (use with a separate masonry bit). This tool features an efficient brushless motor with two speed settings and dual L.E.D. lights to brighten up your work area. Measuring just 6-1/2 inches long, it provides superior comfort and handling. It's part of Makita's vast 18V LXT System, powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries that charge faster, so your tool spends more time working. Makita's Star Protection Computer Controls™ enhance tool performance and extend battery life by protecting against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool can also run on Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol. Included is just the hammer driver-drill (tool only). Key features: It has a compact and ergonomic design, weighs only 3.1 lbs with a battery (battery not included) to reduce operator fatigue, and is great for tight spaces. The mechanical variable 2-speed transmission suits a wide range of applications. The metal jampot design boosts durability. The dual L.E.D. lights, ergonomic handle with rubberized grip, and 1/2-inch keyless chuck all add to its usability. The brushless motor offers high torque, runs cooler and more efficiently, and optimizes battery use for longer run time. The electric brake maximizes productivity, and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) makes it suitable for harsh conditions. It comes with a 3-year limited warranty.

Using the Makita XPH15ZB is a breeze. First, make sure you've got a compatible Makita 18V LXT Lithium - Ion battery with the star symbol (battery sold separately) and insert it correctly. For regular drilling or driving tasks, set the appropriate speed on the two - speed transmission. If you're working on concrete or masonry, switch to hammer mode and use a proper masonry bit. When you're done, remove the bit using the 1/2 - inch keyless chuck. Here are some important things to note. Don't overload the tool. The Star Protection Computer Controls™ are there to help, but it's still a good idea to use the tool within its recommended limits. Avoid using it in extremely wet or dusty conditions for long periods, although the Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) provides some resistance. To maintain your tool, after each use, wipe it down with a clean, dry cloth. Check the chuck for any debris and clean it if necessary. Store the tool in a cool, dry place. Periodically, inspect the battery for any signs of damage. If you follow these steps, your Makita XPH15ZB will serve you well for a long time.
