Using the Makita 18V LXT XFD15ZB driver - drill is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible Makita 18V lithium - ion battery with a star symbol (sold separately). Insert the battery into the tool. For different tasks, use the mechanical variable 2 - speed transmission. For lighter jobs, choose the lower speed (0 - 500 RPM), and for tougher ones, switch to the higher speed (0 - 1700 RPM). The 1/2 - inch keyless chuck allows you to quickly install or remove bits. When working in dark areas, the dual L.E.D. lights will help you see clearly. As for maintenance, after each use, wipe the tool clean to remove dust and debris. The Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) helps protect it from dust and water, but it's still a good idea to avoid using it in extremely wet or dirty conditions. Also, check the battery regularly. Don't overcharge it, and store it in a cool, dry place. If you notice any unusual noises or problems, stop using the tool immediately and contact Makita's customer service. Remember, this tool comes with a 3 - year limited warranty, so keep your receipt and take advantage of it if needed.
