Using the Makita XT297T Combo Kit is easy. First, charge the 18V LXT® Lithium - Ion 5.0Ah batteries using the provided charger. It takes about 45 minutes. Once charged, insert the battery into the tool you want to use, either the hammer driver - drill or the impact driver. For the hammer driver - drill, select the appropriate speed (0 - 550 or 0 - 2,100 RPM) based on your task. When drilling into masonry, it can reach 0 - 31,500 BPM for faster results. For the impact driver, choose from 4 - speed power selections according to the job. Use the Assist Mode (A - mode) to avoid screw cam - out and cross threading, and the Tightening Modes (T - mode) for faster tightening of self - drilling screws. When not in use, store the tools in the provided tool bag. Keep the tools clean and dry. Avoid using them in extremely dusty or wet conditions, but if you do, the Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) will help protect them. Also, make sure to use Star Protection - equipped batteries to prevent overloading, over - discharging, and overheating of the tools and batteries.
