Using the Makita 18V LXT Li - Ion Brushless Cordless 5 - 7/8 Bare Metal Cutting Saw is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible Makita 18V Lithium - Ion battery (sold separately) fully charged. Insert the battery into the saw. Then, choose the right metal material you want to cut. Place the material firmly on a stable surface and align it with the blade. Hold the saw with both hands using the soft - grip handles. Switch on the saw and start cutting slowly and steadily. When you're done cutting, release the switch and let the electric brake stop the blade. Here are some important notes. Always wear safety goggles and gloves when using the saw. Don't overload the saw as it has Star Protection Computer Controls™, but overloading can still cause problems. Don't use the saw in wet or damp conditions. For maintenance, after each use, clean the saw with a dry cloth to remove any metal chips. Check the blade regularly for any signs of damage. If the blade is dull or damaged, replace it with a new one. Keep the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Charge the battery with the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) and don't over - charge it.
