Product Description

The Makita® 5/8” (16 mm) Round Punch is a top - notch tool perfect for making holes in general steel and stainless steel. It pairs with the Makita® 5/8” (16 mm) Round Die (model SC05332710, sold separately). This punch can handle metal plates with a thickness ranging from 5/64” (2 mm) to 5/32” (4 mm) in general steel and 1/8” (3 mm) to 5/32” (4 mm) in stainless steel. Its installation is a breeze, offering great convenience for users. The package includes 1 round punch. Key features are its suitability for steel and stainless - steel hole - punching, specific metal plate thickness capacity, requirement for a 5/8' (16 mm) Round Die, quick and easy setup, and compatibility with the Makita Cordless Metal Hole Punch model XPP01. Specifications show it has a 5/8' (16mm) diameter, a round shape, can work on tensile mild steel (65,000 psi) from t2 - t8, and tensile stainless steel (89,000 psi) from t3 - t6.

Using this Makita round punch is easy. First, make sure you have the right 5/8' (16 mm) round die, as it's required for proper operation. Then, select the metal plate you want to punch a hole in, whether it's general steel or stainless steel. Check that the plate's thickness is within the capacity range (5/64” - 5/32” for general steel and 1/8” - 5/32” for stainless steel). Install the punch quickly and you're ready to start punching holes. When using it with the Makita Cordless Metal Hole Punch model XPP01, follow the normal operating procedures of that machine. As for maintenance, after each use, clean the punch to remove any metal shavings or debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. Also, check regularly for any signs of wear and tear. If the punch starts to show signs of reduced performance, it might be time to replace it.
