Using the Makita 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Steel Rod Flush-Cutter is straightforward. First, make sure you've inserted a fully charged 18V LXT® Lithium - Ion battery with a Star symbol. Place the rebar or steel rod you want to cut in the right position. Use the stopper to hold it at a 90 - degree angle for more precise cuts. Then, simply press the slide switch to start cutting. The tool's Automatic Speed Change™ technology will adjust the speed and torque during the cut for the best performance.
When it comes to safety, always wear appropriate safety gear like safety glasses and gloves. Don't touch the blade right after cutting as it can be hot. Keep the wire mesh intake covers clean to prevent debris from getting into the motor. Also, avoid using the tool in extremely wet or dusty conditions, although it has XPT™ for better resistance.
For maintenance, after each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth. Check the blade regularly for wear and tear. If it becomes dull or damaged, replace it with a 4 - 5/16' 24T carbide - tipped blade.
