Using the Greenlee GSB09 step bit is a breeze. First, make sure your drill has a 1/2" chuck and insert the bit's three - flat shank securely. When you start drilling, the split - point tip will quickly and accurately penetrate the material. Thanks to the patented split - step design, you'll experience smooth cutting and get more holes with each battery charge. As you drill, the double flute design will efficiently remove chips, allowing for faster cutting. Just be careful not to push too hard to avoid stalling, as the progressive cutting edges are designed to work best with balanced force. For maintenance, after each use, wipe the bit clean with a dry cloth. You can also apply a light coat of oil to prevent rust. If the bit becomes dull over time, it may be time to replace it, just like it replaced the 30008 model.
