Lasers play a crucial role in the early construction phases, with measurement needs varying according to different applications. The Makita 12V max CXT™ Lithium-Ion self-leveling green beam laser (SK106GDZ) offers a cordless option for horizontal/vertical cross reference lines and 4-point functionality, perfect for leveling, aligning, plumbing, and squaring. Depending on the ambient light in your workspace, the SK106GDZ has a line visibility of up to 115 feet and can be detected up to 262 feet with a Makita laser detector (sold separately). It features a bright 525 nm class II green laser, delivering best-in-class accuracy of +/- 1/8 inch at 33 feet. The laser line fan extends beyond the 90-degree position, providing 180-degree horizontal and 160-degree vertical lines for comprehensive reference coverage. It self-levels in just 3 seconds, boosting your productivity. All 12V max CXT™ cordless tools are compatible with the 12V max CXT™ Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah battery (BL1041B) for longer run times. These batteries come with a protection circuit to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating. The SK106GDZ is part of the expanding 12V max CXT™ series, combining high performance with great ergonomics in a compact design. For users of the 18V LXT® battery platform, the SK106GDZ has a power connector port. You can use an 18V LXT® battery with a power source adapter (ADP05) and adapter cord (both sold separately). Included with the SK106GDZ are a Magnetic PRO L-Adapter (LE00870134), a Magnetic Green Target Plate (LE00823195), and a storage pouch. The laser also boasts features like selectable line and point modes, a long battery life of up to 20 hours (battery not included), fast self-leveling, slope correction up to 4 degrees, a pendulum lock for transport, IP 54 dust and water resistance, protected laser windows, a rubberized housing, a simple one-button interface, a low brightness mode to save power, and a multi-purpose magnetic bracket. However, it's not compatible with 12V max pod-style tools, batteries, and chargers.

Using the Makita SK106GDZ is a breeze. First, choose the appropriate power source. You can use a 12V max CXT™ Lithium-Ion battery or, if you have an 18V LXT® battery, connect it with the power source adapter (ADP05) and adapter cord (both sold separately). Once powered on, press the single button to select the horizontal/vertical cross reference lines or the 4-point function you need for your leveling, aligning, plumbing, or squaring tasks. The laser will self-level in about 3 seconds. Make sure the working area is within the visibility range of up to 115 feet, or use the Makita laser detector (sold separately) if you need to detect the laser up to 262 feet. When using on uneven surfaces, the laser can correct for slopes up to 4 degrees. For transport and storage, engage the integrated pendulum lock to protect the laser diode. Keep in mind that the SK106GDZ is not compatible with 12V max pod-style tools, batteries, and chargers. To maintain the laser, keep it clean and dry. The IP 54 rating means it's resistant to dust and water, but avoid exposing it to extreme conditions. The battery protection circuit in the 12V max CXT™ Lithium-Ion batteries helps prevent overloading, over-discharging, and over-heating, but don't leave the battery in the laser for long periods when not in use. Store the laser in the provided storage pouch to protect it from damage.
