Make sure the working area is within the visibility range of up to 115 feet, or use the Makita laser detector (sold separately) if you need to detect the laser up to 262 feet. When using on uneven surfaces, the laser can correct for slopes up to 4 degrees. For transport and storage, engage the integrated pendulum lock to protect the laser diode. Keep in mind that the SK106GDZ is not compatible with 12V max pod-style tools, batteries, and chargers. To maintain the laser, keep it clean and dry. The IP 54 rating means it's resistant to dust and water, but avoid exposing it to extreme conditions.
