Using the Makita XCU11Z chain saw is easy. First, make sure you have a fully charged 18V LXT® Lithium - Ion battery. Load the battery into the tool, and it's ready to use. Before starting, check the bar oil level through the viewing window on the large oil filling port and add oil if needed. When cutting, hold the saw firmly with the rubberized soft grip top handle and the rear handle for better control. Use the 'tool - less' chain adjustment feature to keep the chain in good condition. During use, be aware that the front hand guard will activate the chain brake if engaged. Also, the electric brake helps to stop the chain quickly for maximum productivity. For maintenance, regularly check the chain tension and sharpness. Clean the saw after each use, especially if you've been working in dusty or dirty conditions.
