Using the Greenlee 645-001 Quick Change Carbide Pilot Drill is easy. First, make sure you've chosen the right size cutter head for your job. You can quickly change the cutter head with a simple push and turn using the Quick Change arbor. Insert the drill into a chuck with a minimum size of 3/8 inches (9.5 mm). When drilling, especially in stainless steel, the drill will cut smoothly and quickly. The flange stop will prevent you from drilling too deep. For sizes larger than 3/4 inches, the ejector spring will help you easily remove the slug. As for maintenance, keep the drill clean after each use. If the pilot drill gets worn out, you can easily replace it as it's made of replaceable cobalt-steel. Also, check the precision carbide teeth regularly for any signs of damage.
