The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion cordless 1/2 In. Hammer Driver-Drill (tool only) offers a perfect blend of speed and torque in a compact design. It can function as a regular driver-drill or a powerful Hammer Driver-Drill, making it suitable for various materials like wood, metal, masonry, and concrete. The Makita-built four-pole motor is a powerhouse, delivering 480 in. lbs. of maximum torque, reaching up to 1,900 RPM and 28,500 BPM in high-speed mode. Weighing just 3.4 lbs. (battery sold separately), it ensures comfortable use. With Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), this drill is highly resistant to dust and water, making it a great choice for tough jobsite conditions. It's part of Makita's extensive 18V Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool lineup powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have rapid charge times, so they spend more time working and less time on the charger. Makita's STAR Protection computer controls enhance tool performance and extend battery life. This communication technology allows the tool and battery to exchange data in real-time, protecting against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol indicating STAR Protection. It has a variable 2-speed design (0 - 600 & 0 - 1,900 RPM) for a wide range of applications and a compact, ergonomic design that's only 7 - 3/4 in. long, reducing operator fatigue.
Using the Makita 18V LXT Hammer Drill is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible Makita 18V battery. Insert the battery into the drill. You can choose between the two speed settings depending on your task. For general drilling and driving, the lower speed might be enough. For tougher jobs, switch to the higher speed. When using it as a hammer drill on masonry or concrete, apply a bit of pressure while drilling. Remember, the battery is not included, so you'll need to buy one separately. Keep the drill clean after each use. Wipe it down with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using the drill in extremely wet conditions, even though it has XPT for dust and water resistance. Store the drill in a dry place. Also, make sure to charge the battery properly using a Makita charger to maintain its performance and extend its life. Don't overcharge the battery, and avoid discharging it completely too often as the STAR Protection helps prevent over - discharging, but it's still good practice.
