The Makita 18V LXT Compact One-Handed Recipro Saw (XRJ08Z) is a highly versatile cutting tool. It combines variable speed and low vibration, and offers the convenience of one-handed operation for quicker and more efficient cutting. With a Makita-built brushless motor, it can reach 0 - 3,100 strokes per minute and has a 7/8” stroke length, enabling up to 55% faster cutting compared to competitive models. The saw features a low-vibration design, reducing operator fatigue by up to 40% less vibration than the XRJ07ZXB model. The loop-shaped handle provides rigidity for better cutting efficiency. It can make up to 90 cuts in 2x10 lumber and up to 50 cuts in 1' schedule 80 steel pipe when a 5.0Ah battery is installed (battery and charger sold separately). The saw comes with a counterweight mechanism to keep vibration levels low during cutting, allowing for longer use. It has a compact and ergonomic design, only 14-3/8” long, perfect for tight spaces and overhead work. Weighing just 5.5 lbs. with the battery (sold separately), it helps reduce operator fatigue. The tool-less blade changing system cuts down on downtime between blade changes. There's also a built-in L.E.D. light to illuminate the workspace and a rubberized soft grip for more comfort. It's part of Makita's 18V Lithium-Ion system, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. These batteries have fast charge times. Makita's Star Protection Computer Controls™ improve tool performance and extend battery life by protecting against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol indicating Star Protection. Included are (1) 8' Wood Cutting Recipro Saw Blade (6/10TPI), (1) 6' All-Purpose Recipro Saw Blade (6/11TPI), and (1) 6' Metal Cutting Recipro Saw Blade (7/18TPI).

Using the Makita 18V LXT Compact One-Handed Recipro Saw is easy. First, insert a compatible 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately). Hold the saw firmly with one hand using the loop-shaped handle. Use the variable speed trigger to adjust the cutting speed according to the material you're cutting. When it's time to change the blade, use the tool-less blade changing system. Just press the button and remove the old blade, then insert the new one. Be careful not to touch the hot blade. For safety, always wear protective gear like goggles and gloves. When working in tight spaces or overhead, make sure you have a stable position. After use, clean the saw with a dry cloth. Store it in a dry place. To keep the battery in good condition, charge it regularly but don't overcharge it. And remember, the saw has Star Protection, so it's designed to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating, but still use it properly to get the best performance.
