Using the Ideal 44 - 823 Large Circuit Breaker Lockout Device is a breeze. First, identify the large 480/600V breaker switch that needs to be locked out. Make sure the breaker is in the off position. Then, place the lockout device over the breaker switch. It's designed to fit breakers up to 2 - 1/2' wide and 7/8' thick. No tools are needed for installation, so you can quickly secure it. You can use a padlock with a shackle up to 9/32' to further secure the lockout device. When it comes to maintenance, simply wipe the device with a dry cloth regularly to keep it clean.
