The Makita XRH08Z 18V X2 LXT (36V) Brushless 1-1/8 In. AVT rotary hammer is a game - changer in cordless concrete work. Powered by two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) and an efficient brushless motor, it offers maximum power, speed, and long run - time to meet corded demands without the hassle of a cord. With X2 LXT technology, it can drill up to 140 1/2 In. x 2 - 3/8 In. holes per charge when using two 18V LXT 5.0 Ah batteries. Anti - vibration technology (AVT) is its highlight. Unlike a simple padded handle, AVT uses an internal counterbalance with air pressure to move counterweight pistons against the drive piston, effectively reducing vibration. The vibration - absorbing back and side handles further enhance comfort. It has a low vibration rating of just 9 m/s², yet doesn't compromise on performance, delivering 2.3 ft. lbs. of impact energy, 250 to 980 RPM, and 0 - 5,000 BPM. The torque - limiting clutch prevents gear damage by disengaging gears if the bit binds, and constant speed control adds power to the motor under load. Other features include an electric brake, variable speed dial, built - in LED light, and a retractable tool hook. Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) improves dust and water resistance for tough job sites, and it has dust extraction capability with an optional OSHA table 1 compliant on - board dust extractor attachment (sold separately). Ideal for various trades like mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and concrete contractors, it accepts SDS - Plus bits. It comes with a side handle and a depth gauge.

Using the Makita XRH08Z is quite straightforward. First, insert two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) into the tool. Make sure they are properly seated. Select the appropriate mode - 'Rotation Only', 'Hammering with Rotation', or 'Hammering Only' depending on your task. You can adjust the speed using the variable speed dial and trigger to match the application. When drilling, start slowly and gradually increase the speed. If the bit gets stuck, the torque - limiting clutch will disengage the gears to prevent damage. After use, turn off the tool and remove the batteries. For maintenance, keep the tool clean. Wipe it down after each use to remove dust and debris. The Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) helps with dust and water resistance, but it's still a good idea to avoid using it in extremely wet or dusty conditions. Check the bits regularly for wear and tear and replace them when necessary. Charge the batteries with the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) as per the instructions. Make sure to store the tool in a dry and cool place to prolong its lifespan.
