Using the DeWalt DW0150 stud finder is easy. First, insert the included AAA batteries. Then, turn on the device and start moving it slowly across the wall. When it gets close to a stud, you'll hear an audible alert and see the directional LED arrows point towards the stud's center. Once you've located the center, use the center marking channel to mark it. For safety, always keep in mind that this stud finder can detect AC and live wires. If it alerts you to a live wire, stop using it in that area. To maintain your stud finder, keep it in a dry place when not in use. Avoid dropping it or exposing it to extreme temperatures. And if the performance starts to decline, replace the batteries.
