Product Description
The Makita XSC04Z 18V LXT Brushless Cordless 5-7/8-Inch Metal Cutting Saw is a game-changer for metalworking. It slices through various metals like Unistrut, all thread, channel, corrugated sheets, conduit, pipes, sheet metal, and square tubing with amazing speed. With a 2-1/4-inch cutting capacity, it's a dream tool for electrical contractors as it can cut 2-inch conduit in one pass, saving you a ton of time. The transparent chip collector box not only catches cutting debris but also lets you easily see when it needs emptying. The brushless motor is super efficient, and in runtime tests, it made up to 125 cuts per charge in 1-inch SCH 40 pipe using an 18V 5.0Ah battery. Makita offers multiple 5-7/8-inch blade options for different metals, sold separately. This saw is part of Makita's large 18V Lithium-Ion system, which has fast-charging batteries. Makita's Star Protection Computer Controls ensure the tool and battery communicate to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool can also use Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with Star Protection. Included in the package are a 5-7/8-inch 32T C.T. Saw Blade, a hex wrench, and goggles. The saw has many great features. Its powerful BL Brushless Motor gives up to 125 cuts per charge, runs at 4,200 RPM, and has a long life. The Automatic Speed Change technology adjusts the speed and torque for the best performance. The electric brake helps you reposition the tool quickly. The trigger switch has a two-stage lock-off for safety. The side-loading battery makes the saw more compact at 10-1/2 inches long, perfect for tight spaces. The built-in LED light illuminates the cutting line, and the rubberized soft grip handle is comfortable. The Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) makes it resistant to dust and water, and the stainless steel base reduces chip build-up. It also has on-board wrench storage, weighs only 6.8 lbs with the battery (not included), and has a battery charge light indicator. The Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) optimizes battery life and has a built-in fan for fast charging.
Using the Makita XSC04Z is easy. First, make sure you have a compatible 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery. Insert the battery into the side-loading slot. Check the blade to ensure it's suitable for the type of metal you're cutting. Put on the included goggles for safety. To start the saw, press the two-stage trigger switch. The saw's Automatic Speed Change technology will adjust the speed and torque as you cut. The electric brake allows you to quickly stop the blade and reposition the tool. The built-in LED light can be turned on to illuminate the cutting line. When cutting, keep the saw steady and let the blade do the work. The transparent chip collector box will catch the debris. Empty it when it gets full to maintain visibility. After use, remove the battery to prevent accidental starts. Store the saw in a dry place. For maintenance, clean the saw regularly to remove dust and debris. Check the blade for wear and replace it if necessary. Make sure the on-board wrench is always in place for easy blade changes. The Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) helps protect the saw from dust and water, but avoid using it in extremely wet or dirty conditions. The Star Protection Computer Controls protect the tool and battery from overloading, over-discharging, and overheating, but don't push the tool beyond its limits. Use the Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately) to charge the battery, and the built-in fan will cool the battery for faster charging.
