Using your Makita 18V LXT 6-1/2" Cordless Circular Saw is easy. First, make sure you've inserted a fully - charged 18V LXT® battery into the saw. You can choose from different amp - hour batteries like 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, or 6.0Ah. Before starting, check that the blade is properly installed and tightened using the on - board blade wrench. When you're ready to cut, hold the saw firmly with the rubberized soft grip handle. Turn on the saw, and the dual L.E.D. lights will illuminate the work area. The saw's Automatic Speed Change™ technology will adjust the cutting speed and torque as needed for a smooth cut. Remember, the saw has an electric brake, so when you release the trigger, it will stop quickly. For dust extraction, you can connect a vacuum system to the rear dust port, but you'll need to buy the accessories separately. When it comes to safety, always wear appropriate protective gear like safety glasses and gloves. Don't use the saw in wet conditions unless you're sure it's okay due to the Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). Also, be careful when changing the blade, using the flat motor housing design for stability. To maintain your saw, keep it clean. Wipe it down after each use to remove dust and debris. If you're not going to use it for a while, store the battery separately and in a cool, dry place. Check the battery's charge level using the 3 - stage L.E.D. gauge regularly. This way, your saw will keep working well for a long time.
