Product Description

This Klein Tools cable grip comes with (1) grip. It's designed for cable sizes ranging from 0.16 - inch (4.06 mm) to 0.55 - inch (13.97 mm). The double 'V' grooves offer four - point contact, minimizing the risk of slippage and ensuring proper alignment of wires and cables. For larger conductors, check out our grips with a round inside - jaw contour. Similar to Cat. No. 1684 - 5, but it has a file inserted in the jaw for extra gripping power. Replacement file No. 578 and screws No. 573 are available. The locking handle keeps the jaw open when you place the grip on the cable using a hot stick. It's suitable for wire pulling applications involving aircraft, EHS, messenger, and guy strand cables. With a single V jaw type with a file insert, a jaw length of 5 inches (12.7 cm), a maximum safe load of 8000 lb (3629 kg), and a weight of 6.4 lb (2.9 kg), this grip works well on aluminum, copper, weatherproof - coated wires, PVC - covered conductors, and messenger and guy strands. The Chicago - style design makes it great for the specified cable sizes.

Using this Klein Tools cable grip is easy. First, make sure the cable size is between 0.16 - inch and 0.55 - inch. Open the jaw using the locking handle and place the grip on the cable with a hot stick. Once it's on, you're ready for wire - pulling. When it comes to safety, always check the cable's weight against the maximum safe load of 8000 lb. Don't use it on cables outside the recommended size range. For maintenance, keep an eye on the file in the jaw. If it gets worn out, you can replace it with the replacement file No. 578. Also, check the screws and replace them with No. 573 if needed. Store the grip in a dry place to prevent rust and damage.
