Product Description
The Greenlee standard round metal punch units are all - in - one kits that include a punch, a die, and a draw stud. They're incredibly versatile and can be used with battery - powered, hydraulic, ratchet, or manual drivers. Once properly assembled through pilot holes, these punch units create clean, quick, and precise holes. The hole size is 5/8 inches (15.9 mm). The punch unit is composed of a 1742AV punch, a 1743AV die, and a 1675AV draw stud. It can punch through mild steel up to 10 gauge (3.5 mm) and is suitable for various materials like mild steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic. When it comes to operation, it works with different drivers. If you're using battery - powered, hydraulic, or ratchet drivers, you only need to buy the punch and die as the draw stud comes with the driver kit. The hole sizes are designed according to conduit sizes (outside diameter of US conduit sizes), Pg sizes (European standard pipe sizes), and ISO sizes (International Standards Organization pipe sizes). For example, a 1/2 - inch conduit size punch makes a 7/8 - inch hole.
Using this Greenlee punch unit is easy. First, choose the right driver for your needs - you can use a battery - powered, hydraulic, ratchet, or manual one. If you're using a battery - powered, hydraulic, or ratchet driver, remember you don't need to buy the draw stud separately as it's part of the driver kit. Assemble the punch unit through the pilot holes on the material you want to punch. Make sure it's properly aligned for clean and accurate holes. When using, always wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from any flying debris. Don't try to punch materials that are thicker than the recommended 10 - gauge mild steel (3.5 mm) as it can damage the punch unit. After each use, clean the punch, die, and draw stud with a dry cloth to remove any metal shavings or debris. Store it in a dry place to prevent rusting. If you notice any signs of wear or damage, replace the parts immediately to ensure continued performance.
