Using the Greenlee 730BB - 2 - 1/2 is easy. First, make sure you've selected the right driver - it can be battery - powered, hydraulic, ratchet, or manual. If you're using a ratchet, hydraulic, or battery driver, you don't need to buy the draw stud separately as it comes with the driver kit. Just get the punch and die. Then, properly assemble the punch unit through the pilot holes. Once it's set up, you're ready to make holes. This punch unit can handle mild steel up to 10 gauge (3.5 mm), as well as aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic. Remember, the hole size is related to the outside diameter of US conduit sizes, like a 1/2' conduit size punch making a 7/8' hole. As for maintenance, after each use, clean the punch, die, and draw stud to remove any debris. Store them in a dry place to prevent rusting. Also, check the components regularly for any signs of wear and tear, and replace them if needed.
